Global VoIP network services already available in 36 of the world’s largest countries

PLAINSBORO, NJ; LAS VEGAS, NV; April 11, 2022 – ConnX, an innovative multiservice communication platform integrator and managed service provider, today announced they have launched a global voice network transformation solution addressing the decommissioning of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) at the Channel Partners Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada this week.

The ConnX platform is available in 110 countries and currently supports over 10,000 SD-WAN edge devices, 15,000 transport links, 8 million PSTN calls and secure connectivity to all major cloud infrastructure providers and application services, and is poised to grow even further, perfectly positioning the company to support the smooth transition to an all-VoIP world.

The PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) is the network of the world’s public circuit-switched telephone networks. In short, this is what allows any telephone in the world to communicate with any other telephone. ConnX fully featured telephony services are now available in countries that account for 78% of the world’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The services provided include local dial tone, local numbers, local number porting, domestic calling, local toll-free, local emergency services, and Lawful Intercept. Furthermore, ConnX offers Inbound DID services in 87 countries and Toll-free services in 105 countries that represent almost 90% of global GDP.

“International coverage requires a tremendous amount of planning, financial commitment, government compliance, and reporting to become licensed in-country for proper sourcing of two-way PSTN replacement services,” said Robert Sese, Senior Director, Global Strategy & Innovation. “ConnX is committed to covering 85% to +90% of global GDP countries by end 2022, where available, building on decades of relationships and experience in providing high quality, reliable communications and collaboration services to the most demanding Fortune 500 enterprises.”

The ConnX Global Voice Network coverage includes:

  • Australia
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Chile
  • China

This process of decommissioning the global PSTN has been underway since 2017 and is beginning to effect existing services. While the changeover is voluntary at present, it will ultimately become mandatory for both home and business consumers. In some countries, telecoms providers aim to cease PSTN services very soon. For example, it has been announced that PSTN services will cease in the UK by the end of 2025. Globally, the target switch-off is by 2030.

While the switch to digital means significant changes, the benefits outweigh the investment. Digital vs. analog means easier operations, better customer experiences, improved business resilience, faster response time, and clearer audio quality.

Real-Time Collaboration Solutions: How People and Machines Can Combine Forces With Easy Integrations

There are twists and turns everywhere AI and robots take us, but not everything is black and white. Even as critics proclaim the death of millions of jobs given how fast robotics and AI are advancing, like the latest flurry over ChatGPT and other generative AI programs, there is a hybrid truth emerging – and that is “co-botting.” Co-botting refers to manufacturing robots on factory floors that work alongside people to build things in a safer, more efficient, more profitable, and for many, a more enjoyable environment.
